Jeffrey A. O. Freimund

Jeffrey A. O. Freimund is a former Senior Counsel and Assistant Division Chief for the Torts Division of the State Attorney General’s Office (AGO). Jeff joined the AGO in 1987 after graduating from Willamette Law School. He worked in the Social and Health Services and then transferred to the Torts Division in 1990, where he defended a variety of civil rights, employment, tort, and personal injury cases against the Department of Social and Health Services Division and other state agencies. He tried over 30 jury trials to verdict and handled numerous appeals in state and federal courts, including more than 12 that have resulted in published decisions. In 2007, he left the Torts Division to become a partner in the Freimund, Jackson & Tardif law firm.

Gregory E. Jackson

Gregory E. Jackson is a 1987 graduate of the University of Puget Sound School of Law. Greg worked three years as a Seattle Assistant City Attorney, prosecuting misdemeanants in municipal court. He then joined the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for nine years, and became a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. Greg prosecuted hundreds of felony offenders for drug offenses, property crimes, vehicle homicide, assault, robbery, burglary, sex crimes, and aggravated murder. He was a member of the trial team in the first prosecution in the country to utilize canine DNA. Greg also handled criminal appeals. He joined the Torts Division of the State Attorney General’s Office for six years, defending the State, its agencies and employees in tort actions. Greg focused on employment law, civil rights claims, law enforcement claims, correctional and parole claims, and highway claims. He then worked for an insurance defense firm and became in-house counsel for a local insurer before becoming a partner in Freimund, Jackson & Tardif. Greg has tried over 300 civil and criminal jury trials to verdict.

Michael E. Tardif

Michael E. Tardif is a former Chief of the Torts Division of the State Attorney General’s Office (AGO). Mike joined the AGO in 1974 after graduating from the University of Washington School of Law. He initially practiced labor and administrative law, becoming Chief of the Olympia Labor and Industries Section. Mike transferred to the Torts Division in 1982 and became Chief in 1987. During his long career, Mike handled trials and appeals in virtually every area of government liability, including civil rights, employment, regulatory, highway design, corrections, law enforcement, and social welfare. He was involved in state risk management and insurance programs, and drafted and testified about tort legislation. Mike is a former chair of the State Bar Disciplinary Board and has served on committees and project panels for the national Transportation Research Board for 25 years. He also obtained a MBA from the University of Puget Sound in 1980. In 2007, Mike retired from the Torts Division and founded the Freimund, Jackson & Tardif law firm.
